🎯 Significators — star vs. sub division of labour (Chapter I.10, p. 23)
"The significator gives during its period, sub period or inter period the results of its star lord. The sub lord of the significator shows whether these results will be favourable or unfavourable."
→ Drives the A/B/C/D table in 🎯 Planetary Significators. Star-lord = what, sub-lord = how.
🔍 Cuspal Sub-Lord — the central rule (Chapter I.13, p. 29)
"The sum and substance of the sub disposition theory of prediction is that the cuspal sub lord of a house indicates whether the matter signified by the house is promised or denied. If the cuspal sub lord promises, then only during the joint period of the significators of that matter the results of that matter are experienced; otherwise not."
→ Drives the Promised / Partial / Denied verdicts in 🔍 Cuspal Sub-Lord Analysis.
🕰️ Dasha — transit-verification at the event (p. 105)
"At the time of event Sun, Moon and/or the joint period rulers will be found in the star or sub of the same joint period ruler or rulers."
→ At fructification, the fast movers (Sun ~13 d/star, Moon ~24 h/star, ~3 h/sub) transit the star or sub of one of the MD/AD/PD rulers shown in 🕰️ Vimshottari Dasha.
🕐 Ruling Planets — definition + retrograde rule (Chapter II, pp. 43 + 52)
"The sign lord of the Asc, the star lord of the Asc, the sign lord of Moon, the star lord of Moon at the time of query or judgment and the day lord are called the 'Ruling Planets'."
"A retrograde ruling planet shall give the results only when it becomes direct in motion."
→ Drives 🕐 Birth Time Rectification (BTR). Five base RPs; Rahu/Ketu added when they conjoin/aspect an RP or tenant an RP's sign.
🔢 Sub formula — the arithmetic underneath everything (p. 5)
"Dasha years of each planet ÷ The total number of Vimshottari Dasha years × Star area = The longitude or extent or area of the Sub for each planet in any Star or Constellation or Nakshatra."
→ Drives the 249-sub table. Validated 2026-05-22 against canonical Vimshottari math — zero arc-second deltas across all 249 rows.
Where this lives in the app: the four panes named in the cards above (Significators, CSL, Dasha, BTR) each implement one of these rules. This card collects them in one place; the original pane-level citations were removed 2026-05-22 to avoid repetition.

🔢 KP Numero — Option Picker LSRD method for choosing among N options

How KP Numero (LSRD) works: When facing a choice — college to pick, candidate to vote for, match outcome to bet on, mark-range on an exam — the LSRD method computes 4 "ruling" planets at the current moment (Lagna Lord + Moon Star Lord + Moon Rashi Lord + Day Lord), maps each to a number, sums them, reduces to a single digit, and uses that digit modulo the number of options to pick one. Retrograde planets are dropped. Rahu/Ketu use the sign number they occupy. This method is credited with famous KP hits including predictions for PMs Chandrashekhar (1990) and Dahanaike (Ceylon).
📖 Three ways to compute LSRD — which mode to pick? click to expand
🎲 Pick One (Primary mode) — DEFAULT
For each Ruling Planet, contributes its primary (smaller) sign number. Example: Venus rules both Taurus (2) and Libra (7) → contributes 2.
When to use: Standard KP textbook approach. Use this if you don't know your client's situation. Matches most published examples.
⚙ Sum-both mode
For dual-rulership planets, contributes the sum of both sign numbers. Example: Venus → 2 + 7 = 9; Mercury → 3 + 6 = 9; Jupiter → 9 + 12 = 21 → 3 (reduced).
When to use: When the standard mode gives ambiguous results, or when working with KSK's later writings that emphasise the "complete" planetary signature. Tends to push LSRD higher in the 1–9 range.
🪐 Occupied-sign mode
For dual-rulership planets, contributes only the number of the sign they currently occupy in the chart. Example: Venus is in Libra right now → contributes 7 (not 2).
When to use: Most chart-specific result — reflects WHICH of the planet's two signs is currently active in the sky. Matches the 1990 worked example in the original course material. Best when you want a single, situation-specific LSRD number.
☑ Include retro planets
By default, retrograde planets are dropped from the RP pool and substituted with the next-best planet (KSK's standard practice). Tick this box to keep retros in the LSRD set — useful when working with KSK's personal-preference rules or when you want to see the unfiltered planetary signature.
Note: Sun & Moon are never retrograde. Rahu & Ketu are always retrograde but treated as direct (they use their occupied sign-number).
💡 Tip: Try all three modes to see how robust your LSRD reading is. If the same number (or its reduction) shows up in 2 of 3 modes, the indication is strong. Big swings between modes mean the chart is borderline — recheck inputs.
📍 Astrologer location & timezone — using chart location click to change
Why this matters: KP Numero uses the moment + place where the question is asked (judgment time/place), not the natal chart's birthplace. If you're in Mumbai but the chart was cast for Delhi, the LSRD must be calculated from your current spot — otherwise the ascendant and day-lord may differ.
📖 LSRD Planet → Number Reference click to expand
PlanetNumber(s)Sign(s) ruled
Mars1Aries
Venus2 & 7Taurus, Libra
Mercury3 & 6Gemini, Virgo
Moon4Cancer
Sun5Leo
Jupiter9 & 12Sagittarius, Pisces
Saturn10 & 11Capricorn, Aquarius
Rahu / Ketusign number they currently occupy (1–12)
Retrograde rule: Drop any retrograde planet from LSRD; substitute with next ruling planet. Sun & Moon never retrograde. Rahu & Ketu always retrograde → they use their sign-number.
Mode: Default uses the primary (smaller) number per planet; "Sum-both mode" sums dual-rulership numbers (e.g. Venus contributes 2+7=9).
⚠ Not the same as Chaldean numerology: KP Numero (LSRD) uses the sign-number of the planet's rulership (Capricorn = 10, Aquarius = 11). Cheiro / Chaldean numerology gives Saturn = 8, but that's a different system used for name & birth-date analysis. KP Numero's 10/11 here is doctrinally correct per KSK / Harish Kumar's "KP Numero System."

🏏 Sports Match Predictor 3-confirmation horary verdict

How it works: KP horary uses the moment you ask the question + the place you're sitting. The 6th house signifies "victory over opponents." When the 6th cusp's sub-lord signifies favourable houses (1, 6, 11) and the asking environment is settled (Moon's sub-lord not in 5/8/12), Team A wins. Conversely → Team B. Three confirmations agreeing = high-confidence call.
📍 Where you are right now — using chart location click to change
KP horary chart uses where the question is asked. If you're not at the saved chart's birthplace, switch to "Enter my city" so the ascendant + cusps reflect your actual location.
⚠ Sports caveat: KP horary works best for first-person matters. For third-party sports (you supporting one of two teams), the doctrine is to designate one team as "your" team (1st house) — typically the favourite or the team batting first. Cross-check with KP Numero (Multi-mode preview). For betting, treat any "Too close to call" as a SKIP — the math is borderline.

Why this matters: KP Life Questions uses the moment + place where the question is asked (judgment time/place), not the natal chart's birthplace. If you're in Mumbai but the chart was cast for Delhi, the Ruling Planets must be captured from your current spot — otherwise the ascendant lord, day lord, and Moon-related signatures may differ.

The engine sweeps a time window and finds intervals where the Ascendant Sub-Lord matches one of the Ruling Planets at the current moment — the KP method per the BTR doc.
🎯 How accurate is the given time? (KP doc scenarios)
Click the scenario that matches your situation — the engine will set the right window, verification depth, and (for day/month/year cases) Moon-first collapse automatically.

KSK doctrine: At the correct birth time, the Ascendant Sub-Lord must be one of the Ruling Planets at the moment of judgment (per Prof. K.S. Krishnamurti, KP Reader 5).
Moon Sub-Lord in RP is an equally strong confirmation — look for windows where both Asc Sub and Moon Sub are in RP for the highest confidence.

📖 Per Acharya Kanakkumar B. Bosmia's BTR doctrine. Pick the scenario that matches the book's section. The engine will:
  • Capture Ruling Planets at the moment of judgment
  • Display Moon's full lord-chain (Sign · Star · Sub · Sub-sub) as the doctrinal anchor
  • Apply Punarphoo yoga detection (Moon-Saturn affliction)
  • Apply frequency tie-breaker when an RP planet appears multiple times
  • Show Rahu/Ketu agency — which planet each node represents
  • Render per-candidate narrative explaining the selection logic
📚 Which Bosmia BTR scenario applies?
Maps directly to the book's 7 sections. Each runs the appropriate sub-engine (sweep / A-vs-B / boundary).
🎯 Event Verification (cross-check candidates against known life events)
Per Bosmia (foreword): "After correcting birth time, verification is needed to confirm that the native's life events agree with the rectified birth time." Events are managed centrally in 📝 Input → 📋 Life Events and shared across all sections.
