📊 Charts — North Indian (Parashari)
ℹ️ This chart places planets in houses using Whole Sign houses (classical BPHS). The KP Astrology page uses Placidus cusps instead — a planet's house can legitimately differ between the two pages for the same birth data.

As = AspectsAV = Ashtakavarga●≥28 Strong●20–27 Avg●<20 Weak
🌙 Chandra Kundali — the Moon-Lagna chart. The Moon's natal sign becomes the 1st house; every house, planet and aspect is read from the Moon. Same format as the D1 Rashi chart — the Ashtakavarga bindus (AV) and aspects (As) in the ring are reckoned from the Moon. Used for the mind, emotions, and most transit/Sade-Sati timing (BV Raman / Phaladeepika Ch.26).
As = AspectsAV = Ashtakavarga●≥28 Strong●20–27 Avg●<20 Weak
The most consulted divisional chart after D1. Reveals spouse nature (7th house), dharma type (lagna sign), and amplifies each planet's inner strength through same-sign placement (vargottama). Planets show navamsha results increasingly after age 36. Cross-read with D1 for complete picture.

📖 How to read this tab — Gochar Vedha logic
What "Vedha" means. Vedha = obstruction. A transiting planet gives its good result only from certain places counted from your Janma Rashi (natal Moon) — and that good result is cancelled when another planet sits in the paired "vedha" place. Both methods on these two tabs come from Phaladeepika Ch.26 (Transits of Planets).
📿 Rashi Vedha (this tab) — read from the Moon sign. Each planet has auspicious houses from the Moon (e.g. every planet is good in the 11th; Venus is good everywhere except the 6th, 7th & 10th). If its paired vedha house is occupied by another planet, the good result is obstructed.
🪡 Saptashalaka (next tab) — read from the Moon's nakshatra. It watches the 7 sensitive stars from your birth-star (Janma, Vipat, Pratyari, Vadha, Karma, Adhana, Vainasika). A malefic transiting a critical star or its vedha-partner = affliction; a benefic there = shield.
Reading the result column:✓ Auspicious (clean) = the good result flows;
⊗ Obstructed (vedha) = the good result is blocked by the named planet;
— Ordinary = not one of that planet's auspicious houses.
Two classical exemptions: the Sun casts no vedha on Saturn (and Saturn none on the Sun — father & son); the Moon and Mercury cast no vedha on each other.
Source: Phaladeepika (Mantreswara) Ch.26 — rashi vedha sl.2–25, nakshatra Saptashalaka sl.26–35. Read from the natal Moon; transits update from the Gochar data (open 🪐 Gochar once if it shows "not loaded").

📖 How to read this chakra — Saptashalaka logic
What it is. The Saptashalaka ("seven-stick") Chakra is a 7×7 grid with the 28 nakshatras on its rim — Phaladeepika Ch.26 sl.26–35. It is read from your Janma Nakshatra (the natal Moon's star) and shows which transiting planets are obstructing (vedha) your life-sensitive stars right now.
Vedha (obstruction): a planet either sitting directly on a critical star, or on that star's vedha-partner (the star joined to it by a stick), casts vedha on it. A malefic (Sun, Mars, Saturn, Rahu, Ketu) doing so = affliction; a benefic (Jupiter, Venus, Mercury, waxing Moon) = shield. A direct hit is strongest.
The three headline results (sl.26): malefic vedha on Janma → threat to health/life; on Karma → loss of wealth/career; on Adhana → fear & instability. All three at once = a rare high-vulnerability window.
Compounding events (sl.29): a Sankranti, eclipse, or Graha-Yuddha (planetary war) coinciding with vedha on Janma/Karma/Adhana intensifies it — the Triple-Vedha scanner flags those dates.
Reading the chakra: solid red line = malefic vedha on a critical star; solid green = benefic vedha; dashed grey = non-critical vedha; ● = a transit position. Your 7 critical stars are highlighted on the rim.
Source: Phaladeepika (Mantreswara) Ch.26 sl.26–35. This is the nakshatra vedha; the 📿 Rashi Vedha tab is the Moon-sign (house-based) vedha from the same chapter (sl.2–25).

🔬 Dasha Analysis New — Under Development
New Dasha analysis engine under validation.

No final astrology report is implemented in Phase 1.
📋 Phase 1 Audit Summary
Architecture: Reference Rule → Existing Calculator → Existing Yoga Result → Existing Gochar Result → Dasha Context → Conditional Resolution → Chart-Specific Narrative Phase 1 status: Source discovery complete. Tab shell created. Audit document written at backend/AI_DOCS/DASHA_ANALYSIS_NEW_PHASE1_AUDIT.md. Existing Dasha Analysis tab: Untouched. Continues to operate exactly as before.
✅ Data Sources Available for Phase 2
Yoga results:window.AVClassicalYogas.detectAll(cv, chart) — 366 yoga detectors (Raman 300 + BPHS), result array with id/name/score/basis per active yoga. Vipreet Rajayoga:id:'vipreet_raja' — available in yoga result array when active. Gochar data:window._gocharData.planets[] — current transit planet positions (sign, nakshatra, retrograde). Set by 10_render_gochar.js on every Gochar render. Dasha data:window._lastChart.vimshottari — Vimshottari periods from backend/astro.js → calcVimshottariDasha(). APA dasha rules:global.AV_FALIT_APA_DASHA — 25 rules (APA-D219 to APA-D243) with transit-aware conditions.
⚠️ Key Defects Found (Phase 1 Audit)
P0 — Siloed yoga engine:dasha_engine.js never calls window.AVClassicalYogas.detectAll(). The 366-yoga classical engine has ZERO input into Dasha Analysis. P0 — Transit blindness:dasha_engine.js never reads window._gocharData. All Dasha text is natal-only — no transit context. P1 — Duplicate Vipreet check: Two independent Vipreet Rajayoga detectors (checkVipareetYoga() in dasha_engine vs _vipreetRaja() in classical yoga engine) that may produce conflicting verdicts. P2 — Backend dasha_engine.js is a stub: File contains plain-text AI summary, not JavaScript. No actual functions. Real engine is in Frontend/dasha_engine.js. P2 — Conditional text unresolved in APA rules:falit_apa_dasha.js notes reference conditions ("If Sun is in Dusthana...", "If Moon is not bright...") that are stored as display strings, not evaluated.
